Jamisyn, at age two, somehow "modeled" every single pose as she delicately ate her cake. These two beautiful girls are always a joy to work with. It's been so much fun watching them grow and I am so thankful for all of the opportunities that their parents give me to photograph them. It's crazy to think that I was just meeting Savannah at her newborn session just 9 months ago... I think that these girls are going to really enjoy looking back at these pictures when they are older. How can you not laugh?!
I just love cake smashes! I love predicting each child's approach. Will they smash their whole face in? Will they just go for it? Are the feet going in? Will this be a whole body-covering experience? A photo session in East Hampton, a precious little boy, and two great parents! These guys were all a blast to work with. I even got a little experimental with my lenses and had some fun of my own on the beach. I absolutely love summer on Long Island and I think these photos will help you understand why! Never have I wound up with so many favorites! Well, maybe I have. I know I'm really bad at picking and choosing which photos to post, but this time, it was especially hard. There are just SO SO many! So, I'm a dog lover, but I'm really a boxer breed lover. My husband and I always say that when we get a big enough house, we will get a boxer. And if anybody needs to be sold on why boxers are the most precious dogs, especially with kids, then check out these photos of Jacob with his dog. I mean, really. Soo cute! And I'm going to insert a little advertisement here for my friend Christina's business. You will notice in these pictures that Jacob is holding a number 1. Christina is the designer/founder of Je m'appelle, and specializes in custom designed, hand-painted nursery decor, at a reasonable price! You will see a lot of her numbers and letters popping up in my work. Check out her website: http://www.jemappelle.co/ Ok, so enjoy these photos of Jacob. It was a pleasure working with his family and of course, we had a blast!!! Never have a met someone, let alone a baby, that looks so good in purple. Alexandra has this beautiful olive complexion... put it next to purple... GORGEOUS! I couldn't get enough of this little one! She is one lucky girl... she has two parents that you can tell, just love her to pieces, and the cutest big brother!!! He loved just kissing on her! What a beautiful family of four!! Two of our best friends got engaged this weekend! It was so incredible being a part of this special moment that we have all anticipated for a very long time. Chris did such a great job planning a perfect proposal in Central Park, New York. He asked me to take photographs of the whole thing to capture the moment. Umm, OF COURSE! Photograph one of my best friends getting engaged?!? Yes please! So, Craig and I followed the two alongside the bank of the lake, while Chris smoothly rowed Lauren under bridges and past fountains, keeping her back to us the whole time. At one point, I turned to my husband and jumping up and down exclaimed "I am having so much fun!". I felt like a private detective (or a creeper) and loved every second of it. Chris gave us "the signal" and then he asked Lauren to marry him. I just snapped away. SO FUN. Lauren did not know we were there the whole time. We all surprised Lauren at the beautiful Carlyle Hotel, in a bar painted with scenes by the illustrator of the Madeline books! We couldn't be happier for our friends. Congratulations Lauren & Chris! Can't wait for the wedding!! I made a video that captures the highlights of the whole day:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3cceknQEr2k There are babies that enjoy being cuddled and snuggled up nice and tight... and then there is baby Julianne. This little girl just loved the security of being swaddled tightly. And who can blame her??! I swear, I still swaddle myself at night- no feet showing (opposite of my husband who ALWAYS has to have his feet UNcovered). Julianne's parents are AWESOME, and she has the most hands-on dad I think I've ever met. What a lucky girl (and mommy)... Ok. I have A LOT of posting to do. Being that I'm having a baby and this is my last month working, I've been SOO booked up. Which is awesome! But it hasn't left me much time to work on my blog. So... let me introduce beautiful baby Jana to you. My favorite part of this shoot was incorporating mom's beautiful sari's, including one she wore on her wedding day! The beautiful colors and intricacy are gorgeous against baby's skin. It was a pleasure meeting Jana and working with this family!! Enjoy! |
