Genevieve was the first newborn that I photographed since I had a baby of my own. It's a totally different experience now, since I've been through it myself- especially when talking to new moms. I could listen for hours to everyone's unique "story". One thing that I learned from this session is that my baby is no longer a newborn anymore :( Although he is only 10lbs now, he seemed gigantic compared to this beautiful, petite, little girl. Meet Genevieve Grace...

My camera met TJ when he was just a "bump" in mom's belly. I photographed him when he was only a few days old (see post in January, '11). It was so wild to see him again, a year later, now a little boy. We had a great family session and I'm having a really hard time choosing favorites (you know how bad i am at this). I could probably post 50 photos here, but I'm limiting myself to 25. Check out this cutie!! Happy Thanksgiving! I am truly a blessed woman! This year, I pause and think about these words from Joyce Meyer: "Thanksgiving isn’t just to be celebrated on the fourth Thursday of every November. It’s supposed to be a lifestyle". May we never take things for granted. May we pause and remember EVERY DAY that "every good and perfect gift is from above". I thank God for the gifts that He has given to me. One of my favorite things to do through my camera is to stop and appreciate God's beautiful creation; a flower, a sunset, or a child. And of course, this year, I am especially thankful for my son. We prayed for him for a long time and I cannot express enough thanks for him! My husband is my greatest support and I cannot imagine doing this without him! Thank you God for all of your blessings! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
Since I'm still on my maternity leave, my only recent photos are of my own family :) So I'd like to share with you a little bit from our first Halloween as a family of three (four, if you include the dog- who we regard as our other "baby"). This is Kona and his friend Emma. They marched in the pet parade as superheros and were a big hit! Like the baby, they each had a cape with their initial on the back. our crazy family A little guy of my very own! Meet Lucas Trey. Born September 16th, 7lbs.6oz., 20cm. He is perfect and I'm so in love. This is a photo of Luke at 4 days old. He loves holding his head up. Needless to say, I can't stop taking photos. People on facebook must hate me. I know. With the thousands of photos I've taken (and no- that is not any kind of exaggeration) I have not even begun the editing process. I think I've come to accept the fact that I never will. Well, maybe one day- when I find the extra time (haha that's a joke! I may be 80 years old by then). As of November 15th, I'm finally returning back to work. And boy, am I booked!!!! I'm so thankful and excited to reunite with my clients from last year! I see many sleepless nights in my future but I CANNOT WAIT to return. In fact, I've spent a small fortune on new props, backdrops, and equipment. Stay tuned for more holiday 2011 cuties!!! |
