So hopefully one day, with a smile on her face, Hailey can show these photos and explain to her grandchildren how she used to walk around holding things on her arm, pretending they are a purse and how she used to squat down really low on the ground with her arms flailed behind to "smell the flowers", and they can SEE the love bond that she had with her mother....
I am in love with the emotions and expressions portrayed through these images. The sense of wonder as Hailey approaches the chicks, the bond between her and her mother... The little one-year-old poses (what she is REALLY doing is smelling the flowers!) The way that she walks around with the beads around her arm---like she is carrying a purse. I just love it! I photographed Hailey last Spring, actually, I've had the pleasure of photographing her many times, beginning with her newborn photos- and I just had to look back at how much she has grown in a year! Time certainly does fly by. I've heard it said a million times since I've had my own baby and I've said it so many times myself. Everyday I remind myself to enjoy this new day. Enjoy each moment. Which is why I love taking pictures- to be able to capture a special moment in time is a gift that is treasured always. And hopefully one that gets passed on to other generations.

I just love taking maternity photos and reminiscing about when I was pregnant (I think I say this every time I write a pregnancy blog entry... or i think it, at least). I really enjoy the editing process too. I had a lot of fun with these. I just LOVE body tattoos, especially Lara's! She is SO CLOSE to delivery and was such a good sport as I had her trekking around outside in the cold (she actually told me that she was in early labor upon my arrival!) I'm glad she made it through our session. Can't wait to find out if she has a boy or a girl! (I'll never understand how people have the patience to wait.... I wish that could be me!) Anyways, here are some of my favorites from my session with Lara! Abigail is such a beauty! I'm in love with her big beautiful blue eyes and smile!! I've done a lot of first birthdays and have seen a lot of cakes but I don't think I've ever seen such a beautiful cake for a cake smash session! And I love all of the "props" and outfits that mom had ready for pictures. Check out these photos! Taking a quick break to reflect on the beauty of this spring... I had the pleasure of photographing author, Bonnie Trachtenberg again for book #2 due to come out soon! If you haven't read Wedlocked yet, it's a bestselling novel on Amazon! She is super talented and from what she told me about this next romantic comedy, it's going to be a good one!! For articles, columns, and blogs about Bonnie, visit: http://www.BonnieTrachtenberg.com/ Ok. I'm sitting here, totally freaking out, as I'm editing these photos. No joke, my heart is racing and I've had a huge smile on my face for the past two hours... my face hurts. I know that sounds dramatic and all, but it's the truth. Why, you may ask?? Because this little guy, Nicholas is SO DELICIOUS I don't even know what to do!!!!! I KNOW that you will look at these photos and agree! Forget the cupcake... I want to eat his face!!! You HAVE TO check out adorable little Nicholas as he celebrates his first birthday: Joy is going to be famous one day. I just know it. When I was asked to take some headshots for her new acting school, I was thrilled. I just love working with children this age! Joy and I had so much fun frolicking through the woods and running up hills and laughing as I took some pictures of this natural beauty. I feel like I have this gift of being able to connect to this age group. How lucky am I to be able to work with such a beautiful STAR?! I met this little guy one year ago, when I photographed him as a newborn. It's such a JOY to revisit clients and see how they've grown!!! I just LOVE Lucas' toothy grin and beautiful eyes! Check out these images from his first birthday shoot! It was easy to fall in love with John right away, from his chunky arms and legs to his beautiful thick hair... ahhh, what a pleasure photographing this charming little guy! I'm in love with these family shots we got as well!! I was so excited to meet Dylan, especially since I had just photographed her mom a few weeks ago while pregnant. I already knew she would be a beauty, just like her mom! And I love some of these family shots... Check out some of my favorites from this session! |
