Nothing more to say about that, other than it was a pleasure to work with his (fellow photographer) mom, who just left me to "do my thing". I am so excited about these shots and have A TON of favorites. This little guy is just delicious.

Whoa! What a FUN event to photograph!! I've never been to a Greek Baptism before. Dimitri's mom made sure that I was well informed about what to expect before the ceremony. Everything was done three times. There was oil, water, a hair cut, and a GORGEOUS church! And boy, do these Greeks know how to party! And the guest of honor was a trooper- he didn't even peep when he was fully submerged in water! 3 times!!! I couldn't' believe how he cooperatively went from person to person as they danced the traditional Greek dance, and as others passed him around the reception. These parents should be VERY proud of their good boy! Congratulations to Dimitri!!! People are always asking me what my favorite age is to photograph. Although I love newborns, and other ages, I have to say my absolute favorite is the 6-12 month stage. And even though I say all of the time that I will enjoy every day in every stage that my son is in, I really can't wait for him to be able to start sitting up! Take a look at Nicholas Armando. (I have to comment on the name Armando- it was my grandfather's name!) This little guy was THE BEST model, from his little "sevens" jeans to his father's Lacrosse jersey, to the leg warmers... Oh, and the feet in the mouth!!? (haha can you tell I'm excited about this one??) Ahhhhh SUCH a great session! Precious little Makenzie. Didn't like being naked. Guess this is a good thing... dad's happy! Even with the heat pumping (I swear, my face was melting off!!), she would not have it. But once she fell asleep all cozy in her adorable little outfit, we got some really great shots. Hadley Rose. What a beautiful name and beautiful baby! Mom & dad made parenthood look like a breeze, already so comfortable with their newborn. Of course, I have to attribute this partly to mom being a teacher. Us teachers really understand how to be flexible and "go with the flow". We get lots of practice. Trust me. So when a newborn decides that they do not want to pose for a specific photo, you gotta say, "ok. Let's try another one and we'll come back to this later". I tell all of my clients that I have patience. Really. I do. I worked with kindergartners for six years. I learned that waiting for one baby to get ready and settle down is a lot less stressful than waiting for a class of 25 five year olds to put on and zip up their coats, mittens, scarves, etc. while trying to catch the afternoon bus home. So when I say I have patience, I really do. Anyways, all that to say: Teachers are great and I love working with them! Check out beautiful Hadley Rose. Newborn twins!!! Ahhh!! At one point during our shoot, I looked over at mom and dad and said, "you know- I am having SOO much fun, right?!" And I was!!! Maddox with his arm around his brother?? I can't. I just can't. It's amazing how different these two looked from each other separately, but then photographing them side-by-side, you can really see the resemblance!! Anyways, you have to check these out! Alessandra's mom contacted me and said that I had to get over there so that I can capture her daughter's eyes before they change color. They're gorgeous!! And what a good baby! Alessandra was SO cooperative and behaved!! Now that I'm finished with the editing process, I can't get the song "Bed of Roses" out of my head (Yes- I am a Bon Jovi fan haha) Take a look and you'll see why... This was my first maternity session since having a baby of my own. I have a greater appreciation of what it's like to be pregnant. I like to think that I know what the mother feels like as she is carrying her precious cargo. I like to think that I kinda know what feels flattering and what photographs I would burn if I ever saw them in print of my own pregnant body. But I also know what it's like to want to capture this special time. It's only been four months since I've been pregnant and I already can't remember what that time was like. It's hard to believe that I already forgot what it felt like to be pregnant for nine months! (I guess that's good news to a lot of women out there!) But I also treasure my own maternity photos so much! In fact, it was just the other day that I looked up from the THOUSANDS of photos I already have of my son, and went back to my own maternity photos. I framed a few and sadly remembered that special time. Of course, now I have a son and he is so much fun to play with, but I miss my "buddy" who I carried with me everywhere. I miss feeling him moving around and yes, I even miss his jabs into my ribs. Oh dear... I sound like I may be ready for another one?!?! Anyways, this is Ann Marie. She is BEAUTIFUL and was SO much fun to work with! I mean, I think we could all dream of looking like Ann Marie at nine months! I am so excited to meet her beautiful girl in just a few weeks! I consider it a PRIVILEGE to photograph such beautiful children! John Robert is one of those... I'm obsessed with his hair and his beautiful skin. And it was sooooo amazing to see this "little" guy all grown up, since I haven't seen him since his newborn photo shoot a year ago. I was DYING while editing each of these photos of this handsome guy..... Brielle. What a gorgeous baby! Her lips are perfect. Perfect eyes. Perfect long lashes. Perfect skin. Just perfect. Mom & dad are smitten and I may have found a future wife for my son :) In fact, he was in the audience watching me work for this one! Luckily, it wasn't too difficult to capture this beauty. With a face like this, any snapshot will do. So without further a-du, introducing Brielle Lee... |
